SUMMARY:Blessing of the Teachers and Backpacks AND Family Sunday!
DESCRIPTION:This Sunday is going to be especially busy as we gear our worship service toward children\, focused on the book “Character Kids Save The Day!” \nThe service is highly interactive for our kids\, and is fun for all ages. We will read the book and learn how its message connects to our faith as our kids head back to school. Along those same lines\, it is also the Blessing of the Teachers and Blessing of the Backpacks! \nThis is an annual tradition at Highland Park\, where we put a trinket on our students’ (of all ages) backpacks\, and bless the school year that is to come. In the same way\, we bless the teachers as they head into a new year\, and send them off with a small gift from HP. \nWe hope you’ll join us for this fun and exciting Sunday!

DESCRIPTION:Back by popular demand\, it’s that time of year where we turn down the lights and turn up the drama! \nThe Church at Highland Park is doing its second year of “The Good News of Broadway”\, where we adapt familiar Broadway musicals to our sanctuary. We take the theme of the musical to share the Good News of the Gospel through your favorite show tunes! We bring in guest musicians along with our members to fill the roles each Sunday. \nThis year\, the series will be three weeks long\, and takes place during worship on Sunday Mornings at 11:00am in the sanctuary. Here is our schedule for this year: \nAugust 20- Into The Woods \nAugust 27- The Sound of Music \nSeptember 3- Music Man \nIt is fun for all ages\, and the children often have a role in the show. We hope you’ll join us for this fun\, unique\, and FREE experience! Grab your popcorn on the way in and sit down and enjoy the show! \n
