DESCRIPTION:We are so excited to head to Youth Camp this year with the Southwest Baptist Camping Association! It will be such a fun time! Our sponsors this year are Rev. Cheryl Kimble and her husband Roy! Unfortunately\, our Minister for Youth and Outreach\, Masyn Evans-Clements\, will not be able to attend because of her pregnancy\, but she is looking forward to making a trip down there one of the days of the week in order to attend worship with the youth. Both Cheryl and Roy will have a background check completed beforehand. Here are the details:\n\n\nDates: June 20-25 (campers and sponsors will leave after church on Sunday)\nTheme: The Community of Faith\nCamp Pastor: Pastor Garrett Vickrey of Woodland Baptist Church in San Antonio\, TX\nPlace: Schreiner University in Kerrville\, TX\nCost: $325/camper\n\n\nThe registration deadline is May 31! Please register here by that date so we can make sure everyone that wants to go has a spot! The rest of the paperwork will be handed out at a later date.\n\n\nPayment:\nThe cost for camp will be due Sunday\, June 6. 2021. This can be paid online here and should be put in the “Youth Camp” section. It can also be paid in cash or by check (made out to The Church at Highland Park and with Memo saying “Youth Camp”) given to Masyn or Cheryl or placed in the offering plate.\n\n\nCOVID-19 Information: \n\n– Masks are required when not eating or sleeping or doing strenuous activity (like sports during free time/interest groups)\n– We will do as much possible outside\, including meals\n– Use hand sanitizer and practice good hand washing often\n– Pre-screen health checks before camp\n– **For those planning on going to camp\, they will be requiring proof of a negative COVID test taken 72 hours before camp or proof of first and second dose of vaccination**\n\n\n\nWhat to Bring:\n– Clothes for Sunday-Friday (including rec clothes\, clothes for worship at night\, and lots of socks and underwear)\n– Pajamas\n– Shoes (including tennis shoes for sports/outdoor activities)\n\n– Bedding (fitted sheet and comforter or sleeping bag to go on top of the mattress)\n– Toiletries (body wash\, shampoo/conditioner\, toothbrush/toothpaste\, deodorant\, etc.)\n– Bible\, pens\, notebook\n\n– Backpack to be able to carry everything they need\n– 1 shower towel\, and 1 beach towel\n– Sunscreen/Bug spray\n– Any medications needed\n– Reusable water bottle/sunglasses/hat\n– Any snacks they would like to keep in their room\n– Spending money for camp\, and a suggested $20-25 for a meal on the way to camp and a meal on the way back\n\n\nIf you have any additional questions or concerns\, please contact Masyn Evans-Clements at masynec@thechurchathp.org or you can feel free to call or text her at (432) 288-5823.

SUMMARY:HP Mini Camp: Let's Get Together!
DESCRIPTION:In lieu of Children’s Camp at Disciple’s Crossing this year\, our Children’s Ministry Coordinator\, Abby Byrd\, has organized HP Mini Camp! We’re so excited to get back together and give your children the opportunity for some outdoor social interaction and physical activity. The children will be in small groups that are kept separate to keep contact to a minimum. Masks will only be required in the building for one of the stations and bathroom trips.  \nMini Camp is June 7-9\, 2021\, 8:45am (drop off) to 12:00pm (pick up). It is open to ages 3 years old through graduated 5th graders\, and costs $10/child. Sign up now\, as we have a registration limit of 40 kids. In order to participate\, the form below must be filled out\, along with the 2021 Permission and Consent to Treat Form and 2021 Medical Information Form. \nIt is important that your children bring: a water bottle\, sack lunch\, mask\, hat if needed\, and towel. Please put on sunscreen ahead of time! \n  \nDay 1- “Let’s Get Moving” \nToday focuses on exercise and keeping our bodies healthy. \nDay 2- “Let’s Get Creative” \nToday’s focus is using our creative minds that God gave us. \nDay 3- “Let’s get Social” \nToday is about team games and working together for a common purpose. \n  \nVOLUNTEERS NEEDED: If you are willing to help run groups and stations\, we would love for you to participate. We are accepting volunteers ages 6th grade (completed) and up! To volunteer or get more information about volunteering\, please e-mail Abby at abyrd@thechurchathp.org. \n
