Womanfest 2022

*Sign-Up for Womanfest 2022 has closed, as we have a limited number of beds. If you would like to join the waiting list in the event someone cannot attend, please email the church office at office@thechurchathp.org. We will keep you up to date.*

This year, we are so excited to get back to a full-scale Womanfest!
This year, it will be held outside of Belton, Texas at Summer Mill Retreat Center from Friday, November 11 through Sunday, November 13.
We will be taking the church bus for those who would like to ride together, but you are free to drive or carpool to the event location yourself.

Accommodations
This year, the retreat center we are going to be staying at is the Summer Mill Retreat Center. We will be split up into four separate houses across their land.
Most bedrooms have 1 queen bed, 1 has 2 queen beds, 1 has a king, and 1 has 2 twins. If you would like to have your own room, we can arrange that based on availability(and it will incur an extra charge). We will be assigning housing/bedrooms based on ability and needs. If you have specific needs, please let us know in advance.

Food
Dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Saturday and Sunday will be provided for you. Lunch on Saturday will be on your own, and please eat before coming to the retreat center on Friday.
Please bring a shareable snack or drink for the group. They will be kept in our shared meeting space. If you’d like to bring food/snacks for your house, there is a fully stocked kitchen in each house.

We will be meeting indoors in one of the houses, though if it is nice, there is plenty of outdoor space to use as well. If you can, bring a lawn chair!

Dr. Kim Bodenhamer

Guest Speaker

Our speaker this year is Dr. Kim Bodenhamer.

Kim grew up in the small town of Comanche, Texas. As a student she was active in the youth and missions ministry and in high school felt called to ministry. She attended Hardin-Simmons University as an undergraduate and there she discovered a passion for studying the Bible and its languages. She received her BA in Biblical Studies from Hardin-Simmons University, then earned a Masters of Theological Studies from Duke Divinity School. She went on to earn a PhD in Religion with an emphasis on Hebrew Bible at Baylor University. She began teaching Engaging the Old Testament for UMHB in 2015 and in 2017 began as an Assistant Professor in the College of Christian Studies.

When she is not reading or teaching, Kim is likely rewatching the Office or trying to bake something inspired by the Great British Bake Off with her husband Jack, 6 year old James,  1 year old Cason, and 10 year old Brittany Spaniel, Max.

We are so excited to have her join us this year!
