What is Womanfest?
Womanfest is a yearly retreat that many women in our community take part in! Each year, we have different themes, speakers, activities, and a different location that we visit! This is a time for not only spiritual formation, but also for community strengthening, and a whole bunch of fun!
This year, we’re going to Bastrop, TX, a beautiful and historic town right outside of Austin. We will be staying in a Comfort Suites and using their meeting room for our communal time, and we will have plenty of time to get out and about in the town to go shopping, eat, or listen to live music.
Make sure to read all the information, and then fill out the sign up form below! But please note, your spot will not be reserved until you pay the cost of the retreat (in full) here. If you need financial assistance, please contact Cheryl, Masyn, or the church office. They are all happy to help you discretely.
The Logistics
This year, Womanfest is happening at Comfort Suites in Bastrop, Texas, less than one hour from the church in Central Austin.
We will be there from November 8-10, coming back after church on Sunday. The cost for each participant varies depending on how many people are in your room:
1 person: $325/person
2 people: $165/person
3 or 4 people: $100/person
This includes your accommodation, any supplies needed for workshops being taught, and the meals we will provide.
There are limited rooms available, so in order to reserve your spot, we are requiring that you pay the cost in full here. Please do NOT hesitate to contact the Church Office, Rev. Cheryl, or Rev. Masyn if you are in need of financial assistance! We truly hope that everyone that wants to go can participate.
Accommodations
Each room has 2 queen beds available for use, and we have reserved 18 rooms. However, we need your registrations by Sunday, October 6 to release the rooms we will not be using and avoid extra costs.
Please talk to others about rooming before you put them on the form to avoid confusion.
Meals
There will be meals that are included in the price, and meals you will be on your own for. Saturday and Sunday Breakfast and your Saturday Evening Meal will be provided.
Friday Night Dinner and Saturday lunch are up to you! There are many delicious and fun places to eat in Bastrop. Take some friends or go on your own, it’s up to you!
Our Speaker
Our speaker this year is Eileen Mitchell. She spent 30 years in ministry working with single adults, senior adults, and Women’s Missionary Union (WMU). She grew up in Texas and has known Cheryl since they went to church together in Oklahoma over 40 years ago.
Our theme is “Women of Courage”. We will talk about different women in the Bible and in modern times and how we might be like them. It is going to be a fantastic few sessions, and we’re excited to have her.
