This Sunday is going to be especially busy as we gear our worship service toward children, focused on the book “Character Kids Save The Day!”
The service is highly interactive for our kids, and is fun for all ages. We will read the book and learn how its message connects to our faith as our kids head back to school. Along those same lines, it is also the Blessing of the Teachers and Blessing of the Backpacks!
This is an annual tradition at Highland Park, where we put a trinket on our students’ (of all ages) backpacks, and bless the school year that is to come. In the same way, we bless the teachers as they head into a new year, and send them off with a small gift from HP.
