Youth Lock-In 2024
Our lock-in is happening September 6-7, 2024! It is going to be so fun as we play life-size hungry hungry hippos, freeze dry candy, play murder in the dark, Night of the Assassins, and watch movies. There will be snacks and fun galore! First Baptist Church of Austin will be joining us for this mega-youth event.
Eat dinner before you arrive at 7pm at The Church at Highland Park. We’ll send you off after a hot breakfast at 9am on Saturday. Don’t miss out: sign up below for this weekend.
Youth @ Highland Park is all about building a growing relationship with each other and with a living God. Sunday School is held on Sunday mornings at 9:30AM in the Library. Typically, Sunday School is led by our Associate Pastor, Rev. Masyn Evans-Clements. If you have a youth-aged child, grades 6-12, and you would like them to get involved with our youth group, send an e-mail to Masyn at masynec@thechurchathp.org or you can call or text her at (432) 288-5823.
Yearly Activities:
- Spring/Fall Retreats: Our Spring/Fall Retreats are weekend-long events for our students ages 6th-12th grade. Students will make friends, play games/do fun activities, and experience spiritual formation over the course of these 2 day events with other like-minded churches. More info coming soon!
- Lock-Ins: All-night snacking, movie-watching, sardines-playing, seldom-sleeping delirium is the only way to describe our overnighters where the youth find themselves locked in the church for 12 hours of fun.
- Youth Camp: the annual Summer Camp for all youth, grades 6-12. A day at camp includes morning activities and devotions, Bible studies, swimming, movie-making, missions, games, worship, evening fellowships, and a nap (if you’re lucky). This year, summer camp is taking place June 16-20, 2024.
- Mission Trip: We take the church bus and trailer and hit the road. Our work involves serving others and serving one another and lots of room to grow our faith and put it to work. We often end our trip doing something really fun together. More info coming soon.
- Fall Retreat: A similar event to Spring Retreat
