What is Womanfest?
Womanfest is a yearly retreat that many women in our community take part in! Each year, we have different themes, speakers, activities, and a different location that we visit! This is a time for not only spiritual formation, but also for community strengthening, and a whole bunch of fun!
This year, we’re going to a crafting center in Temple, TX to tie dye, paint, or do whatever crafts you’re interested in or want to bring! There will also be other, non-crafting activities for those who are less interested.
Many of our own members will teach classes, and the center provides Cricuts, work stations, and other amenities to make your crafting as fun as possible.
Make sure to read all the information, and then fill out the sign up form below! But please note, your spot will not be reserved until you pay the cost of the retreat, $165, in full here.
The Logistics
This year, Womanfest is happening at Rockin’ R Retreat Center in Temple, Texas, just one hour from the church in Central Austin.
We will be there from November 10-12, coming back after church on Sunday. The cost for each participant is $165. This includes your accommodation, any supplies needed for workshops being taught, and the 4 meals we will provide.
There are limited beds, so in order to reserve your spot, we are requiring that you pay the cost in full here. Please do NOT hesitate to contact the Church Office, Rev. Cheryl, or Rev. Masyn if you are in need of financial assistance! We truly hope that everyone that wants to go can participate.
Accommodations
At the Rockin’ R Retreat Center, there are spots for 30 people, all in twin beds. These beds are situated in either a first or second floor room, housing 2-5 people. If you would like a first floor room due to ability, please mention that in the form below so we can assign rooms accordingly. They are limited, so they will be assigned based on level of need!
All rooms have twin beds; there are no bunks or sharing beds. Beds are made up with fresh linens for you and Rockin’ R provides one bath towel, wash cloth, & bathmat for each person. Room darkening shades are in each room, just in case you want to sleep in after a late night!
Activities
We are truly trying to make this year relaxing and fun for everyone! That being said, we have several activities planned, as well as a few that are available to us through Rockin’ R Retreat Center.
Kay Greenhaw will be teaching a painting class. All supplies for this are included in your cost. You do NOT have to be good at painting to enjoy this class! This is just for fun!
Olivia Eades will be facilitating Yoga. Make sure to bring some appropriate clothes and maybe even a yoga mat if you have one! This is accessible for ALL ages, and Olivia creates a very welcoming and accessible environment.
Rockin’ R Retreat Center has a resident Licensed Massage Therapist that you can sign up to have a massage with. This comes at an extra charge. Massages are $1 per minute & time slots are 30, 45, 60 mins. Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted. Please include that you want us to book a massage for you in the form below; your massage must be booked 2 weeks in advance!
