Rev. Cheryl Kimble and Masyn Evans-Clements are so excited to be teaching a new SALT class over the book “Short Stories by Jesus” by Amy-Jill Levine. It is a 6-Week study of different parables that Jesus taught, and we will look at them in new ways as we learn how Jesus’ audience at the time would have interpreted his stories and what they might have learned from them.
This study will be on Wednesdays at noon, beginning October 6 and continuing through November 10. The study will always stay within an hour so that you can take part in the course during your lunch break, whether you would like to participate in person in the church library or over Zoom. Be sure to bring a brown bag lunch and your book!
There are several ways to acquire the book. We are happy to acquire the book for you, or you can purchase it on Amazon. You can buy the full book, which includes three additional parables, or just the Participant’s Guide with the six parables we will be covering with reflection questions and a summary of the chapter. It is available as a hard copy or on Kindle.
